Yeah, but at least with this site there is always somewhere someone can go and get themselves informed.
Oh and in case anyone took me seriously, I have no knowledge of prostitution websites being targeted in this clampdown and I doubt very much that it would even be technically feasible without some serious law breaking on the part of ISPs. There was a hidden wink in my post in case anyone missed it
And as for the guards? Hehehe.... I had the dubious honour of doing some work with their "technical forensic team" on a few occasions. Crikey, it would make you weep to see what those clowns are up to. The guy who heads it up actually thinks that the stuff you see on CSI Miami and 24 is real. I remember him giving me a photo of a guy taken from a shop's CCTV camera. It was incredibly blurry and unrecognisable but bless him he thought I could just do some "computer stuff" and hey presto, your man's face would appear.
A number of years back, probably 10/12 years ago, myself and an ex-colleague of mine went to the police with an offer of help. At the time we both would have been intimately acquainted with Ireland's net infrastructure (this was pre broadband days so it was all pretty neat and tidy). Anyhoo we offered to build some tooling for them which basically at that time would have set of a fire alarm if anyone in Ireland so much as sniffed at child pornography. It was like trying to explain the second law of thermodynamics to a chimpanzee. Not even a flicker of understanding from them.
Anything's a dildo if you're brave enough.
