I saw a documentary a few years ago where a group of men and women were given a series of different tasks to perform (some of which were more female or male orientated in that women/men tend to perform them better) and some women outperformed the men in supposedly "male oriented tasks" and vice versa. The conclusion seemed to be that gender was not a black and white situation, but rather a continuum with a large grey area and that genitalia was only a part of what constitutes gender identity. In historical terms, some societies did not differenciate between men and women as being of different genders, but recognised only one sex. If you classify TSs and maybe some TVs also as transgendered, then you get a sexual continuum stretching from 100% female to 100% male encompassing all physiological possibilities and sexual orientations.
