About the susceptibility of some people to propaganda..........

I find it quite sad that people would use the memory of the dead heros of this country in this way..........

It's an embarrassment for me to see this...........it truely is.............

Of course, I haven't seen this happening either.............

I don't find it suprising at all Luther. When it comes to national debates that involve the evolution or devolution of ones country there's always one side that drag out the past patriot heros of old to support their cause.

Personally I voted no the first time. I didn't vote the second time because I wasn't in the country. If I was I would of voted no again. Why? Well because I believe in the Republic and I don't support the "United States of Europe" which we more or less belong to now. But thats it right there. We belong to it now. The voting is over. We were robbed of our Republic and now we are a member state of the Great EU. I'm not bitter. I cried a little after I got home, but I accepted the change. We are married to the EU "till death do us part".

The propaganda is all PRO-EUROPEAN. Pro-"integration" etc. The fact that you guys don't even see that they're selling off Ireland for their own profits is a joke.

You're being brainwashed into not being "racist", not being "hateful", "bigoted", all the words they throw at people who don't want invaders in our country.

The reason they come here is because they were busy fighting and massacring when our grandfathers and great-grandfathers etc. were building up the country and economy for them and their children!!!! They are selling us out, we are being SOLD OUT.

As for heros of time's past, well here's Ratko Mladic working out a battle plan he's about to commence... the logistics of slaughtering a village of men, women and children. Was there ever anyone remotely similar in the history of Ireland?

    Default No difference!

For the record I voted No. Not that i think it matters 'cause this country was going down the tubes anyway. I mean, can being governed by Europe be any worse than than the shower of useless, inept, corrupt, selfish, two-faced, lying, cheating and, in some cases, criminal politicians that make up the government and opposition here?
Yes - we sold out, when we joined the EEC and gave away our fisheries. Why don't we get rights to the natural resources of other member states?
We joined the euro despite the fact that our biggest customer is the UK and now we're paying for it because of the exchange rate. We might have to leave the Euro yet...
I reckon though if the Pearse's and Collins' of the past came back today the first thing they would do is get rid of the present 'Lords and Masters', clean out the pig sty, and build a new Ireland.

Shit - who cares - we're fucked one way or another!

PS: Europe stood by and did nothing when Mladic, Karadic and co. went 'cleansing' in Bosnia, and again in Kosovo. Too busy celebrating winning the cold war!

The Irish masscared the protestants planters and there descenedents in numerous rebelliions
1642 1798 etc . just as the serbs masscared the ottomon planters and their
descnedents. Every side commited warcrimes in the balkans
The serbs got a bad wrap cuase they had the biggest and best army and commited the largest and most high profile mass killings
and of course there where the ones NATO bombed to end it so the "media" had to make them
the bad guys. The war in the balkans goes back hundreds of years back to the turksih invasions
and there enslavement of the serbs.

An absolute slap in the face for democracy, I was totally against it at the time it was first suggested, I was very much of the opinion that the government were just going to keep holding the referendum till they got the result they wanted, which in my opinion was BS........

However things change, the countries economic landscape changed in the mean time. We were not voting in the same economic enviornment the second time that we had voted in the first time. There were changes and clarifications made before the second vote and people were much better educated about the treaty..........
