Because he manages to keep the car behind for 10 or more laps with maybe a slower car.

For the last 10 laps I am looking at the times between Alonso and Pastry, is so ... ''exciting''.
Fernando Alonso is 42 years old.

Oldest F1 record holders of the last 25 years. Oldest pole sitter = Kimi Räikkönen [38 years 10 months 16 days]
Oldest race winner = Again, Kimi Räikkonen (39 years 0 months 4 days)
Oldest F1 title winner = Lewis Hamilton (35 years 10 months 8 days)
Fernando Alonso would take those records if he got pole, a race win or a championship win.

In the entire history of the sport, only three drivers have won a championship in their forties.
    1 Juan Manuel Fangio (46 years, 41 days) [1957]
    2 Giuseppe Farina (43 years, 308 days) [1950]
    3 Jack Brabham (40 years, 155 days) [1966]

Lewis Hamilton is actively looking another championship. He will be forty next January.
