I’m wondering what the best method or protocol for contacting someone in this context is? Just via DM? Bar trawling through some of the other sites not sure how else it is done.

I assume this would be for an SP you don't already have a rapport with (since you would then probably have the contact info). I would say PM is the best way. If they are not advertising, then they may not be working (or at least not soliciting new clients). PM gives them the opportunity to reply when they are ready to.

For me, contacting an SP when not advertising is fairly similar to the dreaded "when will you be in X". So just be aware that contact might not be received as well when a provider is on holiday (even if they are posting to forums {here or otherwise}).

Because they seem an interesting person online. I kind of thought this was partly why non advertisers posted here to be honest.

I’m assuming they are currently working if they are active online here which may not be the case though. I was going to do the DM approach but wasn’t sure this was ok.
