    Arrow Well, I signed ...

I happen to think that it's good to have a voice and make it heard if you do what you believe it's good.

Independent ladies being under investigation, ladies working alone being threaten or attacked, these are really awful things in my opinion. Working with someone and being left alone from the guards makes our lives SAFER, not to mention cheaper too.

The "safer" part is more obvious, it is well presented in the petition text as well.
I would like to talk about the part where working in pairs is also more efficient.

Many girls are already doing it under the same roof. I don't know how they aren't afraid guards will not knock on their door someday. They're either very brave, either very ignorant in this area.

Me? Well I am neither brave, neither ignorant and excepting a short time when I started, I always worked by myself.

I am not sure about others, but I am kinda tired to :

    • Paying for the last months a security men 24/24 when I can just pair up with someone else for free.
    • Pay all my accommodation expenses by myself when many expenses could be easily halved.
    • Never being able to offer a duo session

With the big demand and higher prices from before, paying a security men, my rent and my bills (1200 rent + 350 car + about 300 monthly bills + 250 or 350 advertising and this doesn't even include accommodation while on touring), never used to bother me. These days, when money are scarce and clients less reliable, what I am doing it doesn't make any financial sense.

Clients would really benefit if ladies would be allowed legally to work in pairs: they have more to chose from , the ladies won't mind doing special discounts and generally allowing lower prices if their expenses will be less, some of them may be available longer in the night due to the fact they won't be afraid to receive late guests anymore etc ...

In conclusion, I think the petition is a very good idea and I wish many people would sign it and something will be done !

P.S. I dared to add a link to the petition on my website, I hope it will generate at least a few signatures : Welcome to my Website - Karin - Genuine Independent Escort

These points are all very good and I understand that allowing two escorts share the premises they work from makes both very good financial and very good security sense from an escort's point of view.

However, from the point of view of those people/organisations who's job it is to stop/discourage escorting or those who have taken this task upon themselves, they stand a better chance of achieving their aims if escorting is made unprofitable. So in this regard, it is in their interests to ensure that the overhead costs for escorts are as high as possible. The arguement, that the current legal situation puts escorts at greater or unnecessary additional risk probably wont sway their opinion, because they will just argue in favour of legal/financial/risk deterrents to discourage escorts from working here.

I suspect, that as with some other laws/policy decisions, this could all prove counterproductive in the long term. The best arguement to put forward to those who wish to stop or curtail escorting is a simple economic one with a criminal aspect. If genuine independent escorts, who have themselves taken the decision to work here for good financial/business reasons, are discouraged for whatever reason from coming here, who or what do those guardians of public morality expect will step in to fill the vacuum left. The demand is quite obviously out there...........so it's just a question of what type of suppliers you would rather have operating in the Irish market.
