I never heard people speaking like this about Dubai. But what i heard often that a lot of succesful people are mooving there with their business or buying properties. So probably they don’t treat people so bad.

It’s the same down here.. mind you I’m fairly rural but I’ve no problem letting the house unlocked..
The shed on the other hand.. massive pad lock😂😂

You pay tax anytime you buy something in a shop, or put a car on the road, or any number of other taxable things a person can do. So I've never been a fan of this whole nonsense of people being referred to as "taxpayers", which is something Ronald Reagan started iirc. Everyone pays tax, almost every day - some just pay more than others for various reasons (car owner, home owner, higher income, etc.).

Register as a sole trader, or don't, I don't mind and I won't judge either way. Do you think the well-heeled in our society declare all their business dealings?! You better believe they don't! As long as you are spending your money into this economy then you are doing your part as far as I'm concerned.

Both town and country Robbie, I’m going to presume you are a dub?? And nothing wrong with that I spent many a happy year living in Dublin myself

But in the town I come from it’s completely normal nobody locks the door during the day because friends and family are always just walking in and out that’s just the way it is

Right, I haven't travelled much around Ireland at all, I used to travel to tennis tournaments as a teenager but that's about it for rural areas.

The only real time I have experienced rural living was when I went to irish in 2004 & 2005 in Donegal, incredibly rural it was.

Or Donegal really is beautiful, but I am going to guess that I am right in my assessment of you as a Dub ha ha, You wouldn’t be the only Dub I know who doesn’t travel outside the county much (and I’m not slagging Dubs here, I lived in Dublin myself and I do have a fierce Grá for the place) But I remember in Dublin friend saying to me once, “What are you going to Naynoith for?? Shure that’s way out in the sticks??!!)

And I was like “eh, Are you joking me? The number 66 bus goes to Maynooth???!!!!”
