Thread: The Titanic Submarine

  1. #1

    Default The Titanic Submarine

This really is the stuff of nightmares. 24 hours until their oxygen runs out. A young teenage boy on board. I actually feel angry, how could this expedition go ahead if theres no way to rescue them if they get stuck?? Money, I suppose.

It dosnt even bare thinking about what they are going through right now.

I hope with all my heart they will be rescued, praying for a miracle.

Yeah its rough now to say the least , they need to get another sub down there and get them up quick , its scary to think the company in charge had no plan b if things go wrong

Exactly! That's what makes me so angry, even flipping Tescos has ridgid health and safety procedures, a company bringing you Lord knows how many miles under the ocean and, eh, nothing?! It's just so hard to comprehend!

Unfortunately not just that simple, there are very few subs capable of a rescue mission from that depth.

Honestly from what i have been reading it sounds like this tourist sub has no business being near the water in the first place. It sounded like an accident waiting to happen.
It did however have safeguards in place that should a failure occure it should have floated up. This would suggest it has been snagged on something.

I hope a miracle happens here an its found floating, hope of a rescue from deep see is quickly diminishing. I cant imagine being trapped down there.

Sky news said it's 200k a trip, I'd rather go skinny dipping

Diagram from internet showing how far down they are compared to famous landmarks. Scary.

If I had to guess I'd say they've already passed from hypothermia, which isn't the worst way to go in fact. What's crazy about this case is that the cowboy that came up with that deathtrap trapped himself with it and a bunch of very wealthy patrons. Normally if corners are gonna be cut and if a half arsed job is gonna be done then it's because if it goes wrong it'll only kill a bunch of poor people anyway, So this is an odd one.

I think its under the bracket of extreme adventure, like climbing Everest. Going that deep in the ocean is beyond dangerous. I read an article that said signing up for this is knowing if one thing goes wrong theres a high chance youre in big trouble.

Hopefully they make it but Ive heard going that deep described as harder than getting to the moon.
Theres been more expeditions to the moon than people rescued at that depth.
To put it in context, the Kursk submarine that sunk in 2000, they attempted to rescue them for 4 days and they knew where they were located. They failed and over 100 people died. That sub was on a seabed at 350 feet, the titanic is 12000 feet deep if this sub is anywhere near it.
Im not being very cheery here but the odds are long.
    Fingers crossed.

It's definitely extreme! You couldn't even compare it to climbing Everest, think Everest has been climbed around 11,000 times.
Don't think there is anything really comparable to a venture like this.
