Thread: m50 tolling options

  1. Question m50 tolling options

Do you use an m50 tag where they charge you €1 per month for having it or use a video account or pay as you go ?

I'm up and down a lot recently , I have a video account .. don't know if I should bother with the tag ? Technically you'd be saving €1.20 per journey but mehh I dont know.

    What are your experiences?

I love using someone else car or truck and they going mental when the fine comes in with a picture of me waving at the camera

It's the simple things in life that amuse me.

Back in the days when I hadn’t a bob, used to tail gate trucks, but then they got rear number plate cameras.

Then I used to carry a tub of sudocreme and daub some over one of the numbers. Looked like bird poo, easily wiped off once you got home.

When they had the coin baskets, if you checked the rejected coin slots, you could find more than the toll costs, not to mind quickly hopping out and picking up all the missed coins……the good old days.

Just got a tag now. Works for all the tolls, so I use it a lot.

If you are going to be using the toll bridge several times a month then you'd be better of getting a tag account. It's 2.10 per journey with the tag. For the video account I think I was being charged 2.60 a journey.

Tag also very handy if you use other motorways. Makes passing through the tolls fast and convenient.
Lead me not into temptation. I know the way

I do not own a car. I do not drive.
There are far to many cars on the road. Use public transport. Go green.

Says the man who lives in a city with an actual transport system, try getting anywhere in rural Ireland without a car, haven’t been on a bus or train for years and have no plans to be, the problem with public transport is the fact it’s full of….the public😉

Yes iv said this to a girl before, i dunno how they tour around with our public transport. I guess going from town to town might not be so bad, but if i had no car i couldnt even work. The minimal bus schedule would not suit, never mind the walk in all sorts of weather to the bus.
