    Angry Esb posted soaring profits

Reading in the Irish Examiner newspaper today that the ESB, Irelands main electricity and gas provider, has reported E847m euros profit for the year ending December 2022, up from E679m euros in 2021.This is a company that is 95% owned by the state and comes after the ESB increased the cost of their electricity bills by 10.9% last summer and gas bills by 29.2%. We are been ripped off, lift, right and center.

No, Rockerman, it doesn't surprises me.
I am just wondering how much more us Irish will take
before we stand up and fight back. Has you say if that
was in France or Greece they'd be burnt out of it...
While Ireland is full of fucking sheep.

My blood was boiling reading this, almost 1 billion in profits by a state owned organisation at a time when people were afraid to turn on their heating I hear from clients who are small business owners their electricity bills being 3 times the usual amount. Electric Ireland made no profit in 2022 - gave €55m back to customers. I dont begrudge people in reciept of social welfare but there seemed to be so much help given to them and nothing to ordinary workers trying to pay rent/mortgage, I heard a wicklow woman on the radio, she and her husband are busisness owners with 4 young children, they couldnt get a mortgage, they are renting their home but have to leave in two months and cant get anything suitable near their childrens school you could hear the panic and stress in her voice. I believe that theres plenty of jobs, plenty of money in this country, apparently we currently have the strongest economy in Europe but it seems the workers most essential to society -nurses teachers, gaurds etc and our well educated youth are left struggling and emigrating.

Varadker boils my blood, out of touch privileged dope, that "joke" about Clinton the White House, even National school kids know how much the Clinton's did for the North, I'll never forget his comment a few years back that young couples should turn to the "bank of Mum and Dad" for help with a mortgage deposit, could he be more out of touch??

Anyway that's my rant, my heart breaks for anyone working their arse off and struggling, I was once that solder it's horrible.

If only we all reacted like when the water charges came in.
Not be long sorting it out if most of the country just stopped paying. Lol.

    Yes,

We were all told how the cost of generating electricity was going up. So understandable that it will cost more. Then when company making the electric make huge profits, it make you wonder about what it actually cost.
