Actually, per the latter part of your post.... I don't know how many of you might be interested in gaming (specifically PC gaming), but the amount of games these last few years that involve..... (a word I really don't like saying because it makes me sick, especially given the nature of.... everything) "assault of an extreme nature" is scary. There didn't used to be games of any sort of sexual nature available on the commercial sales sites, up until sometime in the latter part of last 10 years? But the amount of these games that involve 'that which I don't like saying', is disgusting. As part of game's description, it'll say something like "this game contains non-consensual....", as in it's a part of the game. But some of them are far worse. A couple of years back, there was a game that was banned from the store because it was essentially a "____ simulator".... I'm not even exaggerating that. And I've noticed there's a similar game on the horizon as well. As you said "acting out a fantasy may stop something real happening", it just made me think of this. Could one consider something like this a means to an end, if it were to potentially stop something real from happening? There's a certain category of pornography, from a certain part of the world more so than others, that involves this kinda thing heavily.
And no, I've never nor would I ever invest a cent into anything that involves the above.... just thinking that these games exist makes my stomach churn. Honestly I think this is horrid.... but if it were to potentially stop it from happening in real life? And then there's the flip-side to that, would it ENCOURAGE someone to do it in real life?? Now, I've heard cases over the years of people blaming games like Grand Theft Auto for example, because someone who did something similar in real life said they did it because of playing the game but... then again, the vast majority don't. And yes folks, unless you have some kind of parental lock on your PCs or filters on the store options, kids CAN see these games available.

Actually, I think pornography has a lot to answer for. It messes people's minds up, I think Jenny said similar in an earlier post? It normalises things that really shouldn't be normalised? "Oh all women like it when you're being rough". NO! Jesus christ, everyone's bodies are different. What one person likes, doesn't mean the next person is going to like the same. I mean, a young adolescent teenager now has access to more sex and nude content than anyone else before in history, and that access is so easy as well. And that just keeps increasing year after year. In a way, it kinda ties into my previous post as well.
That's kinda scary, I'd be worried that it would encourage rather than deter that sort of behaviour!
