imade one mistake by drinking two pints and ithe cops saw that i was far from drunk so they drove me home and gave me a good warning i was lucky and some people learn from there mistakes i did i agree totally with what you are saying

I was just bre telling something that happend to me.
The thing was I was stopeed because I had a bad car compared to the rest who were just waved through

The point I was making was I was totally 100% sober when I was pulled yet I did see other drivers pyshically being nervous behind the wheel as I was stopped yet they were waved through

i agree there should be zero tolarence when it comes to drink driving

if you go out maybe sunday for lunch or what ever the reason, you shouldnt even be allowed to a glass ov beer. none what so ever, dont care who you are or what your capable of drinking, there's people lives out there that your taking a chance with!

For starters when a senior FF member can drive down the wrong way on a dual carraigeway ,langers drunk and f'all done to him and he even becomes an FF hero for speaking abiut it and saying it was wrong,sends out a very bad message.

Also those ads on tv have turned in into a bigger joke.They are so fake looking.They need real accidents,real ppl involved in them to speak on these ads not actors or staged events.They need pics etc.

Well for my tuppence worth the lot of you might not be so self richous if you lived out the country and went for a couple of pints all your life, Now with the new laws coming in people like this will be isolated. I think a mature person with 2 pints driving a few miles home is less of a danger than young drivers driving at speed

there is no excuse for drinking and driving none.Sorry but a drunk old idiot is the same as a drunk young idiot behind the wheel of a car.Ppl living in the country can takes turns to drive and not drink on eack night.They can also have a mini bus or something frop a griup of them home together and it wouldnt cost much regardless of what Gay Byrne said.

there is no way that a zero tollerance attitude can be taken to alcohol consumption whilst driving a car. The human body has far too many ways of taking in microscopic amounts of alcohol from the food we eat, the aftershave and so forth. Therefore in the eyes of the law, although a presence of alcohol is detected it is without doubt no fault of the person driving the car, nor can it be proven beyond reasonable doubt that it will effect the performance of said driver in his or her ability. Therefore it must be taken into account that there will always be a tollerance for alcohol presence in the bloodstream.

So with that in mind, how about the fucking government get off their arses and give us a 24hr, multi pointed public transport system?
