Hotels or apartments

Im sure this has been covered before but are apartments better then hotels as last time i was in a hotel to see an escort the hotel staff were looking at me walking through the lobby, maybe its paranoia & anxitey on my behalf but would like to know what people prefer, many thanks

In summary, some people prefer a hotel, some don't. Personally I find them intimidating and am nervous enough before an apointment without the added stress of trying to act natural, I'm a terrible actor!
