    Default Tech company layoffs 2022

Why focus on Twitter? I understand Musk is a controversial figure but the entire tech industry/sector is slimming down. 10000 job cuts announced for Amazon and 11000 job cuts announced for Meta. Just sayin'.

Saw that , it’s industry wide — Musk is just acting the maggot on top of it and

how he’s going about it .

I did watch the vid last night - the answer is prob right there lol x

Will the tech layoffs affect ROI ? Dublin real estate / rental market ??

His methods. He's acting like a manchild (which isnt out of character) and the way he's gone about handling the takeover is going to see him run straight into employee rights. At will employment is a thing in the US, but even there people have rights. In Ireland, which is also impacted by layoffs across the big tech companies, the statutory rights do favour the employee. Musk's approach is likely going to see him run face first into some kind of legal challenges, even here. He's also going to realize very quickly that you can have all the money in the world, but you need talented people to actually want to work for you. His autocratic "bro" mentality is dated.

So this isn't about tech workers being sacked, it's a subtle and indirect crusade against an autistic, Martian billionaire. Bezos and Zuckerberg sacked their employees with class and decorum

Elon thread is sorely needed to compliment Trump 2024

Tech industry relies on money and talent to progress. The downturn in the world economy must have a negative effect on innovation and tech advancement.

As for Elon Musk, he is someone whose intelligence you can admire from afar, but he is not someone you would want to work for.

Like him or hate him the company he bought was losing 4 million a day. Lot of people working 4 hours a week and getting paid 80k plus for it. Take a look at the videos of a "day working at twitter" or any of the tech companies. It's like adult daycare. I don't agree with musk on a lot of things but purely from a business perspective it had to be done. Also these cuts were lined up before he took over, the previous higher-ups pushed them out till after the deal went through to absolve themselves.

This is the real answer, no need for people now that AI can do the work. Same thing has happened in all industries

He certainly is interested in creating a WeChat clone for the West but he'll face an uphill struggle: China is a one party, authoritarian state that can effectively rule by fiat; the West still has some vestiges of rights-based, democratic governance.
