10 deaths is really terrible, in what the guards have described as a tragic, freak accident

Everyone accounted for now so I hear, final count of 10 including two teenagers, a boy and a girl, fuck sake, the whole thing is just so tragic, what a waste of lives

The little girl was going in to buy her Mum a birthday cake apparently. It's all just beyond heartbreaking. 10 people, that's a huge part of a small community.

Just ordinary people going about their day, just in the wrong place at the wrong time, million to one shot, 10 lives ended in the blast, the lives of people left behind in ruins as well, enjoy every minute of every day, we only get to go around once ☹️

Everyone named and aged on the RTE News App. The youngest was 5 and killed along with her father (50). A mother (39) killed with her 13 year old son. A 14 year old girl, along with 5 others aged from 24 to 59.

I just cant imagine as a small community how they could even begin to cope with such a massive loss. And the rescue workers, taking a 5 year old from the rubble, I hope counselling is made available to these poor people.

Not known for sure, but The Sunday World have quoted an expert in saying that the gas leak may have started in the apartments, because the ground in the petrol station is not blown up, and he said maybe a light switch triggered it as it was turned on.

It's only a guess at this stage though, so it still might be something else.

I read that alright, but if gas was leaking, surely you'd smell it? I hate the smell of gas!

At a guess it might depend on where the leak is, I haven't a clue tbh.
