Just asking a serious question of the United supporters here.

As a Liverpool fan I was gutted to see Michael Owen score the winning goal in the game against Man City last Sunday so I am wondering how do you feel about his value to the club this season. Obviously your opinions are likely to be coloured by that goal but overall do you feel that he was a good signing for the club?

I would have considered him a good buy 4/5 years ago when he came back from Madrid as he is a natural goalscorer. Injuries have certainly had an effect but, coming to United on a free transfer and getting(allegedly) half the wages he was on at Newcastle was worth a gamble.
He looked sharp in pre-season when everyone was getting their fitness levels up and the goals he has scored have been mostly opportunist strikes and we haven't had someone like that since Van Nistlerooy.
