Most awkward location entry/exit

Terrible threat title, this isn't about holes!

I saw an escort recently who I've seen previously, and I was pretty surprised by her method of allowing access to the apartment this time around.

I'm walking up the street while on the phone to her, getting directions to find the door, and then told to "look under X, there is a key, let yourself in and come up to the 3rd floor". Lots of faffing about trying to find what she was talking about, because your head isn't exactly sharpest with the excitement of a meet, making it a pretty uncomfortable experience. Thankfully a quiet enough street...

But it got worse. After the meet, I was asked to drop the key back where I found it. Ok, shouldn't be too bad, despite me questioning the safety of it all. But as I walk out, there's at least 3 people hanging around outside, one of which I'm pretty sure is the next punter! All clearly watching me dropping the key back where I found it.

Bizarre, off-putting, and I can't imagine particularly safe. I might understand if the escort had a view of the key-drop area from a window, but she doesn't.

I've had a key dropped from a window by an escort before, that felt more natural, and of course I wasn't asked to put it back afterwards, I think that's what made it most awkward. Any similar situations?
