Thread: Feeling the pinch

    Default Feeling the pinch

    Hey guys,

Any one else feeling the pinch lately? The cost of living is really eating into my spare cash. I have a good job but I'm seeing less and less in my account as the months go by.

I see it the most when i have to fill the car. Watching the dial grow higher and higher is a killer, knowing it eating into my spare cash.

I have no problem with the cost the Ladys charge here. Its just if I want to make it to the end of the month I need to give them a skip :-(

Before I wouldn't of thought twice about driving a couple hundred km to meet a girl, but now its just not an option.

Anyone else in the same boat?

This country is a joke. Our government are a bunch of cut throats. Lonely Planet travel recently came out and said Ireland is not a valid destination for tourists anymore with how expensive hotels, car rentals are. Really a disgrace and only so much can be blamed on fucking covid (where the rich got richer/poor got poorer) and the war in the Ukraine. Absolutely laughable. The highest earner in the HSE is getting €750,000 a year and plenty more on €500,000 a year and they're fucking useless! Everything about this country is a joke apart from the decent people, lovely countryside and of course Escort Ireland!

Hang in there. If you are struggling that much then visit a girl from here once a month...even with cost cutting you can't deny yourself everything for those scumbags...

If the price of food/ fuel etc is a problem then maybe you shouldn't punt at the moment.
We have two lives , the second begins when we realise we only have one .....

Ya you need at least an extra €50 a week than you did before.

The government are doing very little, only reducing public transport by 20%.

Toll Bridge charges should be reduced or even completely free for the next 12 months!

Everything will suffer. When the feel good factor of spending money goes it’s very hard to turn around. Even the hobby of meeting ladies was more expensive 25 years ago. Now with rents hotel prices and lack of clients spending power the fun is over for a while imo

Some very difficult decisions have to be made , in times like these
Everyone has to prioritise, it does worry me how some people will make ends meet
On a slightly different subject ( but it is linked)
I came through Dublin airport at the weekend, I used the lavatory closest to plane , I have never seen anything so disgusting, and I’m not easily shocked, I don’t want to go into detail, but urinals overflowing, is the nicest bit of what I seen, nobody had checked them in days
I would imagine after flying, most people would need to use bathroom
What a welcome to the beautiful Emerald Isle , for any visitors , on their first visit

Last time I was in Dublin airport (March) I'd had a couple of pints of Heineken and then the barman says to me he's out of Heineken, but he had these foreign beers. He says if he had to change the Heineken tap he'd have to walk 50 yards and he couldn't be arsed doing so. I commended his honesty, but it was midday for fuck's sake. Dublin airport has gone to the dogs.
