Like most old-timers I began punting LONG before sites like this one existed...indeed, before the internet was available to the public. Therefore I have had many, many punts without the benefit of photographs, references and access to the collective wisdom of you lot.
Interestingly, in the goode olde days I had about the same amount of luck as I do now...some punts were great, some were terrible. The difference now is that when you have a really bad punt it is quite a disappointment, but in the old days you could be pleasantly surprised by an exceptional escort in a way which is less likely now, as everyone else will have said so too.
The one big difference is that the girls seem to have gotten much better looking now that we have web-based photographs -- however punting has become very very expensive, so swings and roundabouts
