In the instance I referred to the girls mother ran in to a local pharmacy for an epipen. They refused to give a pen as she did not have a script. Unfortunately the girl had left her pen at home. A subsequent inquiry by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland did not have an adverse finding against the Pharmacy/Pharmacist. It is a grey area as a possible breach of dispensing criteria may have saved her life. From memory it was just before Christmas as well

Allergies are real and people do die.
Food intolerances are more common but nonfatal. Anyone that doesn't believe in food intolerances is welcome to visit the toilets with me after I've devoured a Kentucky snackbox or if really brave a Chinese.
