The most disgusting thing IMO is the Brits refusing to evacuate the people that were working in the embassy for them, be it cooks, cleaners, security or whatever, and also the interpreters etc, leaving them to certain death and torture.

My heart goes out to all the girls who are likely to be raped continuously, IMO forced marriage is rape full stop. However that is a culture that the west can do nothing about and people who grow up in societies like that probably are disgusted at our liberal attitudes to sex and life.

IF the Brits and the Yanks really wanted to be world leaders they should start at home, educate their people, have proper free health services for all, and eliminate racism which is rampant in both countries. Just look at the proportion of non whites in prison in both pro rata to the population and you will see just how 2nd class citizens (subjects in the UK not even citizens) non whites are treated. Both the US and UK could be among the very best places in the world to live but they are certainly not if you are not white or filthy rich. And if you do not have a university degree your chances of a decent standard of living and healthcare are significantly lower.

All Ireland can do as a small country is welcome in refugees from Afghanistan and we should do, and events like this should be a real wake up call to all of us and appreciate how lucky we were to be born into a civilised society with a great standard of living.

    rant over

The refusal to rescue those like interpreters and their families is such a betrayal, they will not be safe there and not returning their help with evacuation is equally unacceptable and shows that loyalty to a Foreign nation doesn’t give you much, only a target on your back for the Taliban to go after.

I agree with you're sentiments and your post. But in fact we Irish are very far away from a civilised society. We were a catholic dictatorship for most of my life. And we are on the brink of ushering in the biggest murdering two faced bastards to ever walk the face of the earth into government.

How do you manage to turn every thread into a tirade against SF IDF ? Were FF and FG roots not in the Irish Civil War ? Were atrocities not carried put on both sides ?

And to call SF "the biggest murdering two faced bastards to ever walk the face of the earth" is very ironic on a thread discussing the Taliban, US and British Armed forces. Get a fuckin grip man ffs!

I guess I'm just skilled at this forum malarky!

The British government just announced an amnesty from prosecution to the cries of foul from everyone except the murdering British soldiers. That would be fine if everybody was long dead from the troubles, like the Irish Civil War you mention. But that is not the case. You know my view on the PIRA/Sinn Féin and yet you insist on calling me out about it. PIRA/Sinn Féin murdered more Catholics than the British occupation force and the protestant paramilitaries fact. PIRA/Sinn Féin claim to be socialist but were created by Fianna Fáil as a counter to the IRA (The real inheritors of the 1916) socialist army. Weaponised by Neil Blaney and Charles Haughey for an internecine war.

Hardly, people, I want governing me.

We were, past tense and the people have brought about huge changes and the fact that we have the freedom to elect our leaders, with fear of reprisal is something probably over half the worlds population do not have.

As for you "biggest murdering two faced bastards" comment, I guess you mean Sinn Fein, well maybe you should get out and get involved in local politics to stop that happening, I do not think they will get into power in the next 10 years, and hopefully never will.
