To take the previous poster’s logic further : ie . Only about 10% reported ,

then in 2018 - 4840 cases , 10% reporting leaves 4,356 running around as carrier

2019 - 7540 cases , 10% reporting leaves 6,786 undiagnosed carrier

2020 - 5620 cases , 10% reporting leaves 5,058 undiagnosed , etc.


Of course all this is just conjecture , no solid data as to % of underreporting

but for this argument’s sake I’ll take the previous poster’s figures which are v reasonable imo .

Now add up the above numbers : 16,200 undiagnosed carriers engaging in sexual activities .

+ 2021 - first Quarter 242 reported , = 2,178 undiagnosed .


Now . How do These numbers divide into the 1.5 million sexually active population ?

How does it divide into the pool of ‘promiscuous’ population ??

1,500.000 / 18,378 ~~~ 82 .

Think on it .

Get tested .

With that little piece of info alone we can also say that the whole study is alarmist. Maybe in the first quarter of 2020 there were more than 191 cases but because of covid, people didn't go to hospitals because of fear of contracting covid.
Imagine that number slightly higher lets say 220 people.

All of a sudden the increase from 2020 to 2021 is not 27 % is waaaaay less and we are just scaremongering people.

There are different factors not taken into account.

That's the reason why we have to take everything with a pinch of salt...you have to read between the lines of those studies.

Btw in 2019 the dentist prescribe me a dosis of antibiotics that killed everything in me,( first time in my life taking them) including my gut bacteria and took me a month! to recover.

hi Rock, I am not an expert but there were 2 very good looking lady doctors and was very interested in what they had to say
Its Free over here in England, mine is Emtricitabine/tenofovir disoproxil lupin pills and I get it every three months, I had to take one pill per day for 7 days and then one pill every second day. Nice oval shaped blue pills
I was told of side effects, two of the most common are kidney problems which I get checked every three months and thinning of bones so can affect bone density but all my checks have been fine and no worries there. As said its highly effective but people do forget to take it when suppose to and end up taking maybe two the next day to make up for it but it does not work like that, I forget myself at the beginning but got timers and alarms set up to remind me

1. ‘Statistics’ — I am merely referring to official numbers reported - as per original article .

It’s pretty straightforward : how many reported cases / year

2. What is the ‘False Premise’ , please ?

3. - 4. Comparing 191 cases of first quarter of 2020 very misleading : Covid Lockdown was in place .

Instead , why don’t we look at the 54% year-on-year increase from 2018 to 2019 ?

Gives a much truer reflection of trajectory of infection increase . 2020’s lower number compared

to 2019 due only to Covid , and was still higher than 2018 .

4. First Quarter of 2021 already high , if it should continue on same plane , we’d be looking at near / over 900

cases for 2021 . And as you said , only about 10% reporting : multiply it by 10 , still comfortable ?

There's no immunity , you can be infected again and again .

The wickedness of it , is that initial symptoms can be easily missed :

Initial sign and symptom - the painless sore ;

Secondary stage - general rash ; then the bacteria just live happily in your body for up to 10 YEARS

without symptoms in what is called the Latent Stage . usually by this time treatment is questionable .

Then ( without getting treatment ) inevitably will progress to Tertiary Syphilis at which time treatment

is no longer feasible and will see you to a very ugly end .

Best protection if you are sexually active is to go for monthly checks . Specifically request this test .

With this bastid the sooner you know you have it , better chances of just getting an antibiotic jab

and off you go .

It spreads through bodily fluids : but I would like to presume All of us practicing Safe Sex in our encounters !??
