My badgering was never related to uk reports or msm reporting. It was to do with vaccine efficacy.

Hospitalizations, deaths very low. Cases up, but the vaccines appear to be doing their job. As expected.

Time will tell if the higher transmissability of 617 has any impact on severity also, but it does not so far appear to be the case in the UK.

You can be upset about government influence on the report etc, sure, but I've no interest in that. It has no bearing on Ireland.

Apparently Delta ( Indian ) variant has further mutated and appears able to

escape ‘monoclonal antibodies’ .

At the moment only classified as a VOI ( variant of interest ) , more data needed .

Could die out ? Could become dominant .

So far that I’m aware of information is coming out of India only ,

though they have shown scattered cases in several countries .

When I posted this thread UK numbers was around 1,000 - 2,000 / day ,

they were coming Out of their awful time .

Then BoZo got The report on May 13th that Delta is spreading ;

Days later he sent kids back to school , did away with their mask mandate ,

refused to release the report to the public in a timely manner : and when he Did ,

they removed the page on the school study . They opened up May 17th !


: From day one of the Delta poking up , Downing 10 had done everything to shush it ,

they released false data ; consequently MSM reported false figures ; and Hancock straight-out lied .


Now ( yesterday ) their number was 10,000 ? 90+% new cases Delta .

: and this matters because we are Global .


Hospitalizations is up , sure some deaths to follow .

Scientists 50-50 on if it’s going to be as bad as the wave before .

Hopefully they can get enough second jabs in time to lessen the impact .

And all this did not need to happen except for a ‘politician’s ego and folly .

Cases in UK are up in the unvaccinated groups. Not the vaccinated. Primarily younger people who are not yet eligible for vaccine.

Simple answer: if vaccine is available to you, get it asap or else accept risk of serious illness or death. And government - get the thumb out and make vaccine available to all.

However, given the groups the cases are in are younger, impact is likely to be significantly lower as the severity is significantly less in the younger population.

Arguable that the UK one dose vaccinating program has been highly effective in achieving its aim - 19 deaths in UK vs 100 in Germany the other day - who is doing better?

I watched Kier Starmer (excuse my spelling) ask Johnson time and time again at PMQ why the government let flights from India continue for weeks after the new variant was discovered.

He never gave a straight answer once -

"Oh if the leader of the opposition had have had his way we would still be in the EU and away behind with our vaccine rollout."

"The delta variant wasn't discovered until XX of April" - this despite the fact that people were dropping like flies in India.

He decides to let flights continue anyway. The man not only looks like a clown and a buffoon, he behaves like 1 too.
