The stated "Key Findings" of this report are:

    Key findings

The aim of this study is to formally and rigorously document the impact that Covid-19 is having on the Irish sex trade at this unprecedented time in our history.
The trade attempted to respond to the pandemic with a ‘business as usual’ approach as far as was possible, but it was clear that this crisis had a devastating impact on the lives and wellbeing of many women in prostitution right across Ireland.

Despite that claim, they admit that they haven't interviewed a single escort for that report, not one, the excuse being Covid19 restrictions.
Neither is there any input allowed from SWAI

It is essentially a study of the E-I website over the period of the pandemic, along with the usual tropes from Ruhama.
It doesn't make good reading though.

You would have to say E-I, with its published accounts, history, and well documented turnover is the biggest propaganda weapon Ruhama has in its continual quest- for government funding.

More like a tabloid red top piece than an academic publication.

Are all the reviews quoted genuine?

Are the reviewers representative of the average punter?

How were the reviews chosen? Randomly?

    Rubbish in / rubbish out.

    I read it

    Part of the Conclusion:

"It is clear that the Covid-19 pandemic has brought into very sharp relief the harmful and abusive
nature of the Irish sex trade as well as the detrimental impacts it has on those who are exploited
    within it....

From my point of view nothing more far from reality.

Do I need to keep going?? Ladies we need your help...

Angry A bit for the ladies too

And there is also a bit for the ladies too...

    "These women’s wellbeing
is clearly very far from their minds as they are focused entirely on the achievement of their own
    sexual gratification.

I can do better research than that:

What a piece of garbage of research, the person who wrote it took only books as references, why didn't she interview any escorts and ask them directly, is call KEY INFORMANT.
    I am fuming...

A pathetic piece of garbage, that made no attempt whatsoever to talk to any of the advertisers here, nor even the punters who left reviews.

If this study was presented as part of an exam, I would fail it for making no attempt at been objective and interviewing any of the advertisers to hear their views.

This document should be an embarrassment to the "academics" involved. Even from their own statement of their "Method" it is clear that they made no attempt to talk to any of the people concerned. I saw no mention of the Sex Worker's Alliance, although they spoke to organisations well known to be campaigners against escorting. The girls numbers are published on EI - it would have been minimal effort to poll some of them. Independent ladies have cooperated with previous studies and I am sure they would have found some willing to give an interview - anonymously or otherwise.

There was no balance in the reviews selected, and I did not see any escort responses quoted, which would have put a very different perspective on things.

They completely ignored the world of independent escorting, and the document is full of subjective unsubstantiated interpretations of the motivations of escorts and clients, supporting a picture of the escorting world that is just plain wrong.

I hope the author isn't publishing that in the hope of getting good grades as it really is a very poor body of work, totally one sided, completely biased, out of touch with reality paper, whose best use would be to line the cat litter tray.
God, do people really believe this nonsense anymore?

she, the author, Ms Breslin, didn't even get up off her arse and actually interview any of the escorts she claims to research.
of course there were workers ( sex and otherwise) trapped in temporary accommodation here during covid, cos the airlines stopped flying. Duh!
perhaps Ms Breslin would have used her time in a more constructive fashion by actually getting some real first hand interviews with escorts or SWAI themselves.
but no, she continues the tired old narrative that all the girls are down trodden, exploited, impoverished poor wretches and all the men are selfish mean brutish thugs, when this patently isn't the case.
no thought or effort went into discovering the facts about Escorting in Ireland. shame really.
