There could be some survivor bias here:

These people have to be well enough to be able to report it

I mean that the figure could be misleading due to survivor bias which is that they have to survive long enough to be tested. There could be cases where the person dies quickly and so is not tested and so not reported. Not every country does autopsies on the dead if they died of natural causes. After all, at the end of the day is there any point in finding out the exact reason why someone died because that's not going to change anything

I read a bit of good news last night. They did two studies of analysing random peoples blood in America. One in California and one in Massachussetes (incorrect spelling) i think. They found that lots more people were infected than is actually tabulated offically.

One key takeaway of the Santa Clara County study is that a large number of people who are infected with the coronavirus never show any symptoms, said Karin Michels, chair of the epidemiology department at the University of California, Los Angeles’ Fielding School of Public Health.

The fact that such people could unknowingly be contagious means that some level of physical distancing needs to remain in place to protect the elderly and people with underlying conditions who are much more endangered by the disease.

Great News ! ..and damn , that Sox News xx

A virologist in Germany did a similar study if you google it and put the death rate at 0.37% which is much lower than the two to three percent. I mean its still higher than the seasonal flu.

But the German professor said the same thing. When they tested people for anti-bodies, 15% of the people i think had them, of those that were tested. And a lot of the people that had the anti-bodies did not show any symptoms of the disease.

Which is really good news if true. We still have to get to 60 to 70 percent infected before this thing goes away or find drugs to treat it.
