Yesterday in a irish newspaper I ready a article about the lockdown and all restrictions will be happening.
And the most important part was they saying the OFF LICENSES will operate normal as always.
Nothing about pharmacy, supermarkets or anything really necessary in a lockdown.
For me it's perfect as I can't survive a lockdown without a beer ,, but and the others?
I don't think it will work , if they don't create a vaccine and we get out of lockdown it will be insane.
Instead of pubs, house parties was happening all weekends, the city was full as it was a summer destination.
If the population doesn't help we will be far from back to our normal life.
Anyway, I'm still here with a pack of Guinness, few bottles of wine that a receive from some friends/clients and the most important, a big pack of Heineken.
Everybody stay safe and look for the off license closer to you.
Theres a lot of people relying on the fact that a vaccine will be available soon.
It might never happen, yes there is a lot of research going on. But much of the hype is about encouraging inward investment and keeping share prices up.
Medical investment tends to aim more at longterm treatment rather than finding a cure.
We still dont have a vaccine for HIV or cancer despite years of research.

Not aware of this, will Google.
Yes there are individuals committed to developing cures and vaccines but where does the big research money go? Longterm treatment gives better return on investment.

Your point is well made, whilst many companies are doing great work on developing vaccines and having them at stage three already is great progress, the little mentioned fact is that they are being measured on mild cases of Covid-19 and none of the companies are claiming they will prevent hospital admissions or deaths. Notwithstanding that it is still a very positive step forward but probably not the silver bullet cure in the short term

Every 3 minutes in Ireland someone gets a cancer diagnosis. Every hour someone dies from cancer.
It accounts for approximately 30% of deaths every year.
According to the Irish Cancer Society.
28,000 dies each year in Ireland, that's over 9000 people each year die from cancer.
You don't have to contact anyone to get it.
I don't see Cancer all over the news.

But its deadly. I prefer to get a disease contagious but with 90% rate of recovery rather than one not contagious but deadly. Sorry Wolverine, I like u but we do not have the same opinion here
Btw, I have read on fb a few days ago about a 30 yo mom who died because she didnt get the treatment she needs it for cancer because of The Covid.

I have read as well that many people with other diseases have been refused or couldn't get the treatment they need it because of all this craziness with Covid. And then they die ... not from Covid but from the whole things who happen around related with the existence of Covid.
