A job which can be rewarding but also highly stressful is always going to leave most participants yearning for something better. In a sense it is the
degree of tolerance one has to the negative aspects and ones ability to make the most of potentially enjoyable aspects of the job. I know one lady well now retired
who had a kind of love hate relationship with escorting which saw goods days and bad days mixed together like most jobs. In general this person thrived and prospered
and on balance gained from the years in the job. However, I know another woman who for a variety of reasons worked in a reluctant manner and has suffered
from mental issues which appear to have arisen out of her time in the trade. A major problem as I see it is the stigma that is generally shown against people working as escorts
which can and does follow them beyond retirement. If a lot of people believe that sex work is disgusting then a fair proportion of people in the industry will follow suit and think likewise. It is not a bad job
for many but it is not for everyone.
