It's very rare that something like the recent church scandal actually gets publicised

Did you not know Patricia, that in a catholic country, the church always tries to get a monopoly on education, health, social services, sexual activity and the right to abuse others.

The members should read up on the activities within the Vatican in the 15th and 16th centuries under the Borgias. What passes for brothels here would have been nothing in comparison to St. Peter's Penthouse. And you don't have to go back that far. I recall within the last ten years reading a piece by a former priest turned writer, who had been told by two black african nuns, who had gone to Rome what some of their duties ended up being. Still, you have to be grateful for small mercies...at least they were'nt children on that occasion.

The truth is if escorting didn't exist or wasn't available without danger then many people would get really desperate and either travel abroad or resort to such scams as the "russian bride" ones where all three parties (bride, groom, company) are trying to scam each other and the Irish taxpayer when she becomes a welfare-drawing citizen. the catholic church had a ban on contraception.Why do you think the families of those old days were so big?Why do you think Aids is ridden in Africa?They said that using contraception was against Gods teachings.So from this when you take into account that the ban on contraception is lifted,

(b) The church havnt a clue and only make up rules as they go along based on fiction.

Actually the catholic church still has a ban on artificial contraceptives. It's also a mortal sin.....which means we're all going to hell. But the good news brothers is .......................................................

Haughey's government which legalised the sale of "contraceptive devices" in the early 1980's..........though at first they were only available from chemists on a prescription to married couples for bona fide family planning reasons. It was known as an Irish solution to an Irish problem. The strange thing was that other nations did'nt seem to have the same problem and neither did Protestants......I think it was something to do with the water and the priests constantly blessing it.......we did'nt need them, sure how the f**k could you get pregnant when you were drinking holy water all day long.
