Well we need to start blooding new younger players. Some of our established players are now gone past their sell by date.
Cooney has to start now , Sexton looks finished , Toner is gone . Time to try a few new players against Italy .
Front row needs to buck up too

A bad day for the Irish unfortunately and their Grand Slam and Triple Crown hopes are over for this season. A lot of rebuilding to be done after the Championship is over and there may be quite a few new names in the starting lineup for the Italy match in a fortnight`s time.

A long as Ireland are still in contention for the Six Nations title there won`t be wholesale changes but I would expect Cooney and Doris to start against Italy for sure.

He’s 34 , gets into too many arguments with the ref , seems to be carrying a lot of knocks lately , he was a brilliant player but alas time holds back for no one.
We’ve got to think of the next World Cup

Sexton has indicated that he would like to play in the Lions tour in 2021. Whether he can get back some of his old form to make that become a reality remains to be seen. It doesn't look too hopeful based on today`s performance.

He has ever right to talk to the ref as captain but I just think he goes the wrong way about it . It’s obvious he was not fit today and if as you say he plays well then the team plays well but it happens the other way too , as we saw today . It was a big learning curve for Farrell today .
Now I’m not knocking Sexton as he is a fabulous player but I think mother time has caught up with him . Look what happened to ROG at the end of his career , I’d hate to see the same happen again .
We have failed at every World Cup , let’s built for it now and take our knocks early

Well on this year he won’t , maybe a good rest in the summer and plays well then maybe but why should we plan for the Lions ? It has nothing to do for our team , well I’m not a fan of the Lions tbh so maybe I should keep out of it
