It is very possible Russian would have been our first language.

It doesn't go down well here in the republic to be told in English how lucky you are not to be speaking German.

Nazis considered Celtic races sub-human, akin to Jews and Gypsies. We would have been lucky to be alive to speak any language.

The original thought behind the term "poppy fascism" was that whether you wore one was a matter of personal choice. The BBC for example, seemed to have wearing a poppy as part of their dress code for presenters.

What a brilliant reply! I too am fed up with the bigoted posts! This is not a site for sharing useless and potentially offensive content like joggon seems to do.
Simple solution... if you want to wear a poppy to honour fallen soldiers, (may I add all soldiers and not just British soldiers that nationalists seem to forget), then wear one!! If you find the poppy offensive then don't wear one!!!!!

I personally thing EI should be monitoring these forums better and getting rid of bigoted posts in the future.

Censorship is wrong. If it's dreadfully obscene yes I agree. Joggon has pointed out the "ignore user" function...it's easy to do. If you don't like what someone says either give him stick or move on. Too much censorship everywhere these days...very dangerous..."1984" next it'll be.

Rockerman I am too much of a gentleman to get into a bitch fight with Joggon. Anyway, he never presents an argument for his beliefs, he just keeps posting links to more bigoted crap! You can find evidence on the net for anything from the flat Earth to spacemen. Just because it is on the internet doesn't mean that half of it isn't a load of horse shite posted by arseholes.

I am friends with a number of Republicans. We fought on different sides of the conflict. I also worked very closely with SF, and former IRA and Loyalists terrorists in the past to bring about peace. I was respected by both sides of the community because I showed respect for their views and always told them the truth. This is what kept me alive.

RESPECT is the key to building something lasting in Ireland for our kids. Before, someone points out the DUP's actions, I have nothing to do with the DUP. The point I was trying to make wth joggon, was change begins with ME! We are not responsible for anyone's actions, but our own. We can line live in the past and stay a victim, or we can get on with forging a better tomorrow for our kids. People like Joggon live in the past and are sill offended by something that happened to their great-great granny in 1921. In Ireland if a Republican brings up something from the past they and only seeking justice because he was a victim, but if a Unionist raises the past he is a bigot. Ireland is full of victims on both sides! Both sides did terrible things to each other! Both sides did terrible wrongs!

I take it that Mr Joggon comes from Southern Ireland. It kind of pisses me off that while were were killing each other in the North, he was sitting safe and sound in the South typing on his keyboard and being offended. Any normal person who lived in the North through the hight of The Troubles should never want to go back to that: Father's gunned down in front of their kids, car bombs like Omagh, tit-for-tat shootings and punishment shootings. I worked in Omagh after the bomb and I will take what I saw to the grave. I was was personally nearly blew up thee times, the first time I was still in my mothers womb.

I think there should be a political discussion section separate from general chat, that way our little friend could knock himself out, maybe even start his own blog.

You would think a bunch of horny perverts would want to talk about escort, girls and punting instead of a load of political tripe.

I couldn’t be unbiased on the subject when I live so close to Derry where the British paras openly murdered civilians on the streets but whatever, seeing a poppy being worn wouldn’t be enough to trigger me but I totally understand why some have such strong reactions to them.
Anyway back to looking at adverts 👍
