The British economy will suffer but it is large and basically strong and can withstand a lot of shocks. The ROI economy is not and, as you say, will suffer more. And the ROI cannot dictate to the British how they run their country. The British will do what they do, and at the present their leadership seems as incompetent as the DUP's.

I never really understood the Troubles as made no sence and do not get the DUP at all, they seem to agree with nothing and do not want to move forward

They're literally living fossils who refuse to move on with the times. FFS Northern Ireland voted no on Brexit if I remember right, and the DUP displayed no concern for the overall will of the people they're supposed to represent!

Speaking of, was reading earlier that there's some steam gathering over in ye olde Britian for a Brexit reversal!! Nothing will come of it I'm sure, but who knows.
