Munster win 27-3 and hand Leinster one of their heaviest home defeats in a long time. Ulster and Leinster have both been beaten at home in the Rainbow Cup. Not great for the confidence ahead of their European SFs next weekend.

Munster hammered Ulster 38-10 scoring 6 tries in Thomond Park with just 1 for the visitors. 3 defeats in a row now for the Ulstermen and their season looks to be petering out.

The format of this competition has changed from what was originally planned with the European and South African teams now only playing each other in what is really 2 seperate competitions. There are only confimed fixitures for 2 more rounds. What happens after that is anyone`s guess.. In hindsight the Pro 12 or Pro 14 competition probably should have been left in its usual format with the regular season finishing around now and with the playoff SFs and the final still to come.
