No ones forced. Either sleep on the streets or get a bed for the night. It sounds wrong but if you were in that situation you'd do the same. It's like if you were in a queue and if some gang members cut you in line, its wrong but would you stand up for yourself? And get beat down in the line? No you wouldn't. You would say nothing and wait a few more people.
Sex-for-rent is perfectly legal and socially acceptable. It is called marriage.
[If you think about it, most marriages are just a form of prostitution.]

In sex-for-rent it is hard to know who “the driver” is.
It may be the landlord who is exploiting a tenant.
It may be a tenant who is exploiting a landlord. The landlord may be smitten by a tenant who is more than happy to provide sex rather than money.
But, even in the case of the tenant who is “exploiting” the landlord, it can be a dysfunctional relationship for the tenant. An escort can pick and choose her clients and if she becomes unhappy with a regular client, she can refuse to see him again, and he can go to another escort.
Even from the viewpoint of the landlord, it would be much better if he was being paid money. He could then use that money to visit an escort.
I am not saying sex-for-rent can’t work in every case. If all parties are happy it may work in some cases. But I think in some cases, even if both parties are happy at the onset, problems can set in down the line.
Of course, every situation is different, and every person is different, and there is no one solution that fits all.
Talking about this in work today. Opinion varied from total shock to a viable alternative to cash, this from a guy with a hot landlady.
It seems that anybody can become a landlord without much regulation. Isn't it about time that landlords were garda vetted.
To anyone that doesn't like me here.
I hope you need to pee 3 times tonight, but that you only wake up twice.
If you don’t like the landlord, then don’t rent from that one. Garda vetted? How would they decide who is a good person? You could say a criminal record including sex offences, but does that mean that anyone who comes out of prison who wants to turn their life around and get a second chance, can’t buy property and rent it out? Really?
