I'm very surprised at how bad the interview was, Kate has been in the media quite alot. If you were a punter I really wouldn't be worried, the only way they can catch you and arrest you, realistically is to camp outside a place of work, I am assuming the gardai targeted well known brothels in the Santry area

It's just my personal opinion but I think clients in rural Ireland are at greater risk than their city counterparts since the new law was introduced. I live in rural Ireland and would be very nervous to visit ladies in any of my surrounding towns. I would definitely avoid 'usual' locations that I have visited many times in the past. Hotels are my only option now, with ladies that I would consider my 'regulars'. At the moment Dublin has 290 ladies advertising. 99.9% of them are probably not on Garda radar. You also have the anonymity of the hustle and bustle of a big city and the thousands of apartment blocks...It's different down the country. Most town have maybe only one/two girls working. A call from a Garda posing as a client will provide details of the location, it only takes one Garda in an unmarked car to keep the place under surveillance and you're 'bang to rights' if stopped and questioned...there are 14 cases coming before the courts at the moment, I think some of those charged or a least questioned were caught in rural Irish towns, New Ross in Wexford being one of them. Maybe I'm being a little paranoid !! Kate made the point yesterday that the new law will drive the 'sex workers industry' (her words) underground, I think it will restrict it to the cities. A few convictions in half a dozen rural Irish towns over the next few months will finish the industry in rural Ireland.

Do you think where an escort is just advertising massage, that one is safe.
It's still considered purchasing sexual services.
In my opinion the main criterion is location. If it has a lot of footfall and is an obvious brothel it's going to be top of the list when raids are to be made.
If the lady and her clients are discreet then there's a far slimmer chance of getting a tap on the shoulder.
Some clients are absolute morons. I met an escort in the IFSC a while back at night. I was about 10 minutes early but had her address so hung out nearby. Another client was standing right in the doorway of the apartment block the whole time I was waiting. Right by the buzzer/intercom. Massive smartphone in hand browsing the escorts in IFSC and calling, over and over. Every person going in and out threw him some side-eye. Like wtf?

Yes rural locations are more at risk due to their size and everybody knowing everybody else's businesss.

Indeed some clients are very stupid. Have seen the same myself. I would be passing locations that I know are used and see lads shouting into their phones. Another one is the lads who look lost and dont know where they are going. Looking up at all the buildings they are passing. I have seen other people looking at them and probably thinking whats up with him.

I've been that soldier. Can be nerve racking

Yes it can be nerve racking finding the location. Always look like you know where you are going even when you don't. Looking confident confident confident.

If a person looks lost then they stick out.

Having good unambiguous directions certainly helps. Easier to look like you know where you are going when you do.

There is no such thing as safe anymore, at least not 100% safe, especially in rural towns. My Modus Operandi in future will be hotels only, regulars only, and try to be the first appointment on the ladies first day before the staff start noticing something 'unusual' on the CCTV. Even with that you're still not absolutely safe. The lady could be 'red flagged' from a previous visit to the hotel, so her very first client could be the one knabbed.....I've settled lately for the joys of Thai Massage. They trade as legitimate businesses, prominently located with nothing to hide, but a nice range of 'extras' for those clients willing to ask... As I mentioned earlier in this post, it will only take a few convictions in rural Ireland to finish the industry in those locations. It won't surprise me to open this website in the future and find only Dublin listed......When the new law was introduced I personally dismissed it as something the Gardai wouldn't bother about or give much attention to.. I stand corrected !!........
