What sort of answer do people want?

The answer, of course, that it is 100% completely safe. This would be dishonest, because, not only are there the cops, but being struck by lightning, taken suddenly ill etc.
To a certain extent, this obsession with this subject is a tad immature. We are not children, surely, needing reassurance? We also know the answer anyhow. This is that the odds of having any problems are small (36 out of how many?, work the odds out yourself) and if you are careful and sensible as has already been said, the risk can be reduced to negligible.

Also, as James Cork has said, information about the recent activity is scant but it is my feeling (I know not very reliable ) that no matter what “evidence” was obtained, if those who were unwise to talk arrive receive a summons and were to arrive in court, the only way they could secure a conviction was if they pleaded guilty.

It would appear, that in the absence of firm information, the business is still with the legal authorities (DPP) whose job it is to decide the next action. If they decide there is no case to answer, it will be a severe blow to the law. If they decide there is a case and a case is run in court and fails it will be a worse blow. Out of thirty-six, someone is almost certain to contest a case and arrive with competent counsel.

I also think (again my thinking and not to be relied upon ) they have “shot their bolt” for the time being. This will keep the “antis” off their back for a while and also they will probably want to wait and see how their actions pan out legally.

Thanks to the, rather few, useful and informative replies here. As regards to the usual nosedive threads take, much as expected from likes of massive Ferguson et al. I received a couple of pm on this thread with info and illustrating the low IQ thread hijackers, so thanks for that. I think a subgroup for chest beating, self proclaimed comedians, who destroy most threads should be set up for them.... Merci
