Punter : no problem guard if you could tell me the crime that has been committed maybe I could help you more ?

Guard : I suspect you were visiting an escort in that apartment block .

Punter: "no guard I would not do such a thing I am a happily married man and am offended you would accuse me of such a thing."

Guard : if you just tell us what you were doing in the apartment block you will be free to go

Punter: "free to go guard ? Are you implying I have been or am under arrest ?"

Guard : no you are not under arrest at the moment.

Punter : "so I am free to go ?"

You're the one not getting it, and you're repeating the same things over and over again which have already been answered. You keep saying "What if they lurk outside the apartment and stop you? Then they have a conviction." Everyone has responded saying "How do they prove payment for sexual services took place?" and you've completely ignored that response, continuing to make the same posts over and over again and claiming you have a deeper level of insight, and that it's other people who "still don't get it."

The new issue you've raised now is the possibility of being caught IN the apartment. If a client is caught IN the apartment, wearing very few clothes, then it will be difficult to argue that no payment for sexual services occurred. However, that's IF the police enter the apartment. There's a few problems with doing so... first of all, an apartment is private property, with an owner, and we live in a country with property rights. If the police want to kick down the door of a privately owned apartment, where there may be a vulnerable, undressed woman on the other side of that door... well, the police have a number of legal and ethical issues to consider before that one gets approved. Raids do happen, but generally, it only happens to buildings in which many women have been working for a long time... I have never heard of a small apartment containing only 1 or 2 women being raided.

The concern really is with being stopped with entering or leaving. This seems to be what happened with these men who were recently stopped, but if someone is stopped when they have left, things are difficult to prove. Having police come in to the apartment is very unlikely (unless you visit a brothel).

How is it a high possibility, there was 36 arrested (nationwide) and there is 270 escorts alone in Dublin. Its less than a 1% chance in getting nabbed and that was on the few days of the operation. Chances of getting arrested are very very low. We don't know the full story of the places that were targeted, could have been multiple girls working there. 36 arrested over a few days seems very low to me, I know weekends are meant to be slower days for the ladies. Maybe it was only specific places targeted and few gaurda resources used.

Ok I will take your points and tell you where I am coming from on them and thats not to belittle your concerns.

Firstly both girls need to be caught in action in the same apartment at the same time. Friends and acquaintances are allowed visit escorts for friendship unless Gardai and Rhuma want to strain an escorts mental health even further by making them virtual prisoners.

Guys need to stop seeing the garda operations as "raids" they are not the doors are not put in with sledge hammers and a swat team screaming. These are girls who sell their time to lonely men they are not hardcore armed drug dealers. I have been with escorts on two occasions once in Dublin and once in Meath where Gardai called in and thats what happened, they banged on the door said gardai open up. The other girl opened the door and let them in. I was with an escort they knocked on the door and told me to get dressed, never looked into the room told me to come into lounge when ready.
I went into the lounge and they asked me my name address and DOB I gave my friends details who I knew was not even in Ireland at the time. They never radioed back to check them, never asked for ID just wrote everything down.
Told me to go and stayed and had a chat with the girls.
I told my friend who is single and mad as a box of frogs that I used his name, he thought it was funny.
Gardai never contacted him and I am still punting.
