    So what is illegal ?
But its still the Underworld Jessica, in this business you need proper licensed premises which are fully insured, what if you injured yourself or a client or set the place on fire with one those hot wax scented candle.

There is no point in anyone being in this business of they don't earn enough to set themselves up for a comfortable lifestyle in the future. If a girl is purely planning on working while in college then it wouldn't be as important to register herself for tax.
But even if it was a legitimate business and regulated, escorts would have to be able to show her books when called upon, have receipts and not many escorts would want to lose nearly half their earnings as the VAT threshold would be easily reached in this business, VAT is no use anyway to escorts anyway and most escorts here only intend to stay here a few years make lots of money and go back home and buy the mansion of their dreams

How can the state set laws and rules regarding VAT on services provided by sex workers if the state has labelled the transaction as being illegal? (And yes, that also applies to transactions in which only the client is criminalized... a criminal transaction is a criminal transaction).

I would love to hear what a solicitor has to say about this. Sorry if this has ready been raised though, I didn't bother reading the thread.

As with many goods and services why not apply any due tax at the point of entry?
    Not hard really.
