Regarding inner gender I think we all have male and female characteristics....

Most people are mostly male or female, and if that matches your outer gender, all well and good...

The body is not black and white, there is intersex, hormones etc etc expand the biological. The identity is a personal experience and overcomes the labelling.

Intersex IS about body parts. Not all are born with either male organs or female organs, some are born with both or born with
the condition of having physical gender markers (genitals, gonads, or chromosomes) that are neither clearly female nor male.
Some are born as female but with external male organs. All this has been well documented but is still hushed up.
What happens then is usually the medical staff ask the parents to make a choice conforming to society's norms or male or female.
