Is their choice to vote as they think... some people are more open minded then others... u should see the LGBT parade in my country before 2018 always violence , now in 2018 was more civilized but Police was in the back of parade to protect them.. still long way to go until people will accept them as they are and not treat them like mental sick people.

For some reason the DUP wont give the LGBT peeps a break. They could have ended the current political deadlock up north by letting gay marriage in but instead they didnt and 2 years later they are getting paid for not working. Its crazy, if you and i didn't work we wouldn't get paid.

I know nothing about politics , i dont know if their Political decision regarding LGBT community have a solid reasoning or just because they dislike gay people. I believe politicians should see beyond their own misconception when take decisions for a hole country. Straight, gay, bisexual, we all humans . Sexual orientation doesn't define who we are, but our character .

Yeah they are a Christian party and only get voted in cause up north the people vote orange(protestant) or green(catholic). There are a few other parties but they dont do as well like the SDLP, Alliance, Ulster Unionists.

Ireland is a live and let live community, the DUP do not represent the vast majority of people but have the power thanks to the UK political situation

I myself as a Catholic Irishman have no hatred towards my Protestant neighbours, some of my closest friends are Protestant.
Maybe living on the border made the 2 communities more isolated in the past but I know that where I live we have become closer in recent years.

When I was going to school we never or very rarely mixed on the bus - Us and them . Now I can talk to the same people that I shared the bus with and even have a drink or a bit of craic with them. Now I don't think for a moment that they would vote SF but some I think would vote for a United Ireland.

But truthfully I don't know - we vote the usual way only that in recent years the main Nationalist and Unionist parties have become more extreme and I can't see a moderate party gaining any ground in the near future.

Hope that I'm wrong though....
