No one talking about it but fuck it,

this morning a thread of value about cocaine addiction was running , some good posts on it and of course some messy ones . These days it is not possible to keep any thread on a serious tone for better or for worse

An individual proceeded to post a wall of text on the subject. they clearly think some of us have no memory of recent events. Surprise surprise that post provoked a response from a fair few of us me included at the end of a post the main body of that post i gave a fair amount of time composing as I genuinely wanted to help the OP , some editing of the thread already goin on BTW

thread started veering a bit of topic but like nothing serious, seen way worse veering, critical of said hypocrite(not the OP) began to bubble a mod warned us to behave, next thing boom whole thread gone deleted, WTF

i have seen threats of violence left up I have seen appalling Misogynistic threads run for a week but if you go after a certain GUY on here its instant edit and whole thread deleted and hell probably a ban .

The elephant in the room , why is he being treated like this , in contrast to much worse threads and posts . If the site thinks we are like letting go what he did think again based on the response this morning . The sad part a decent thread killed.

I look forward to my warning or whatever .

As I posted on that thread aswell.

Several posts were deleted and deserved to be.

It was the OP who asked for the thread to be shutdown.

As for danger weasel, I can't really comment as I don't read his posts.

One thing for thread to be closed , entirely another thing for it to be deleted,i saw some shall we say speculative posts rightly edited , I for one believe the thread had value to others. The reason to delete a thread is normally for serious issues i saw none

Now , would you consider that you may NOT be the only person with such questions

or in such a conundrum : there might be other members dealing with the same issues as you X

And if so , then a constructive thread of value -- which this one sounds like it was --

could be of tremendous help to Them as well !! Please don't deprive your fellow boardmembers ,

do not deprive the other members of your community of whatever YOU have found valuable

and helpful !? : what was helpful to You , may be a lifeline to another !! X

Please reconsider having taken down your thread , please reconsider , and have it reinstated xxx

When a reply by someone like me is made to your thread it is not to you alone as said by Steph such replies are carefully crafted so that others might benefit from them, you are clearly not v experienced with addiction or indeed these forums by the look of things. You asked for the thread to be closed not deleted. If you start a thread you do not own it or its content .

I have a feeling that in your intentions on that thread given how easily you were diverted that you may not be getting a good result. If you had not worked it out I have extensive experience in addiction and I am not happy that you had it deleted , we made an effort on your behalf . But I think the thread being deleted was not your call . Maybe think it through a bit more in the future , you asked for help on a v serious issue we obliged , it being deleted is an insult to those of us who put serious effort into responding to you , I gave that post a lot of thought for YOU

You did not see the need for it to continue and drag on , I suggest you think that through , i suspect you may regret that part of your post .

I read that long post of yours on there this morning.
It was a very good insight you gave.
Shame that's gone.

It was designed to get the attention of any dabblers in coke to see if even one person would pause . It was designed to give insight to the destruction of addiction and how it is never seen till too late. I am less than happy that it was deleted. Thank you for your good words on it much appreciated.

Well said Steh thank you well composed as ever , but I still think he asked for it to be closed not deleted may be wrong. I hope he and others see more than their singular needs when such threads are raised from now on, I often watch depression themed threads v carefully as I am certain a few with it are reading them , the same logic applying.
