There's A Large Online Petition Calling On Sen Mullen To Resign

Folks, there is a large online petition calling on Senator Ronan Mullen to resign from our parliament -

It has almost 23,000 signatures at the moment!

While it is more directly related to his performance during the repeal debate, where he was an active NO to removing the article equating a woman's life in value terms to a foetus, he was also a zealous supporter of the new law which has caused so many problems for sex workers, at least he is very consistent in his believes!

I have signed it and would also urge you to do so, if possible!

A lot of the yes side supported the anti sex workers law should they not be outed on the grounds of total dishonesty and hypocrisy as well? Need to examine what he has said on both issues before signing but on the face of it seems like a good idea. Not likely to force him out though even if it reaches a million.

I think the main thing to do is if a person wants him out and their a graduate of the NUI Universities, then register to vote in Seanad Elections and vote accordingly.
In fairness to Ronan, he is not inconsistent in his views, many on the Yes side are!
How can anybody square the notion of a woman having full abortion rights with effectively saying she cannot fully decide who she wants to sleep with, because if she is a sex worker, her client is criminalized and she is also criminalized if working from the same apartment/house as another sex worker!
