Has that ever happened before that there was identical times? The ferraris are well down the grid.

That is only the second time this has happened since the timing was measured down to three decimal places of seconds! Both on 1:12.000!
Only other time was in 1997 at Jerez in Spain.

Track was unpredictable and the more in rubbered in the faster it became. Caught quite a few out. Ferrari seemed off the pace the whole weekend and so did Red Bull. Mercedes had a good weekend and Lewis Hamilton seemed a good bet for pole but seemed unable to get grip on his final run.
Max Verstappen happy with second with his pace.

Could be an interesting race with rain possible.

Very wet at the start. Kevin Magnussen only one on extreme wet tyres and moving up the field. But the rain is not expected to be this heavy for long.

Fernando Alonso has massive movement. Lucky not to have massive crash but recovers well.

Kevin Magnussen pits from full wets to intermediate tyres. Bit slow.

Both Ferraris going badly. Seem to have engine setting problem.

Daniel Ricciardo is seventh but is under investigation for an alleged false start.

Max Verstappen starting to pressure George Russell.
Can't afford to damage his tyres though.

Problem is, need to change to slick tyres now, but rain is expected soon. Do you just try to make the intermediate last?

Max Verstappen now under pressure from Lando Norris. George Russell now three seconds ahead.

Daniel Ricciardo has five-second penalty for false start.
