Oh jays , galway misjudge the hop and armagh break away and get a free. This must be the last kick of the game, he nails it and armagh lead by a point. Time has to be up but the ref plays on and galway get a free in.

Shane walsh doesn't score the free and there's no raiding of the orchard today. Armagh beat galway for the first time ever in the championship. So how did tyrone do?

Westmeath get two late points to draw against tyrone. So that result means that armagh top the group, barney will be happy. Galway finish 2nd and tyrone 3rd.

Looking back at the last free in for armagh it did seem a bit harsh. I doubt if it was a foul but armagh did play well in that 2nd half. I think after todays games and results the championship just got a new lease of life and got intersting .

So thats the group stage over. Clare, sligo, westmeath and louth are out. Galway were the only provincial winner that didn't top their group. Cork, kildare and donegal all done very well to finish 2nd in their groups. Mayo, roscommon and monaghan will be disappointed after this weekends games. Galway will play one of them 3 next weekend. Maybe we will get a repeat of the league final. The draw will be intersting.

Down, meath, laois and antrim are the 4 teams left in the tailteann cup. Down and meath cant meet in the sf as they were in the same group. Will they meet in the final?

They were also very critical of the use of the mark , when you get inside the 45 . In that a forward was more interested in calling a mark than taking on a defender.
