"The Game" is another one I've never heard from anyone involved with sex work, client or escort, but it pops up a lot with critics. A while ago there was this incredibly stupid play that was touring the country called 'The Game', I didn't see it, but, the idea was that there were some female actresses on stage and men in the audience were invited to come up and proposition them as they would an escort the prove some kind of point, although I doubt any real client would have gone up. A friend of mine told me about it and I looked it up, same thing, "tricks" and whatnot. It always hits me, when I see articles about sex work or when it appears in movies or whatever, how utterly unrealistic the general public perception of escorts and escorting is, and, how evil or seedy clients are always presented as being. It would be funny if it didn't have such awful legal consequences (like Ireland's new stupid sex law that helps nobody and does nothing). The twisted morality of the modern world, meet up with a professional adult to have a fun but respectful time = Bad, yet, go to any pub or club in Ireland at 2am and you see hundreds of drunk lonely men trying desperately to guilt or coerce (in one way or another) women into sex and nobody really cares that much about it. Obviously, I'm preaching to the converted here. The whole thing just irritates me occasionally.
