19 years ago today.
Do you remember where you were when you heard Kennedy was shot?
I remember where I was when I first heard a plane had hit the Twin Towers.
Just as I remember first hearing of Space Shuttle Challenger disintegrating.
Just as I remember a macabre joke told me by a young woman.
"Did you know Christa McAuliffe had two blue eyes? No?
One blew one way and the other blew the other way!"
Christa was a citizen astronaut hoist on the petard of Ronald Reagan and NASA hubris(the American Way!).
Afterwards they rolled back on the democratization of space travel.
Hopefully that hasn't put off volunteers to be first to die on Mars!!

Hard to believe that 19 years have gone by since the attacks. Many people still believe that it was a conspiracy planned and carried out by rogue elements in the US government. I guess we will never know for sure.
