Today is Robert Burns birthday. (25 January 1759 – 21 July 1796).

25 years ago today in 1995 Eric Cantona did his infamous kung fu kick on a Crystal Palace supporter after being verbally abused following his sending off for a foul on one of the Palace players. Cantona received an 8 month ban from all football activities as punishment.
