The storm has already tragically claimed 3 lives, so please stay safe and please don't risk venturing outside until the red alert has been lifted.

Below are some safety guidelines from the ESB (which I'm sure you have already heard today but no harm in posting a reminder)

- Don't approach any fallen power lines.
If power lines are on the road, don't try to clear them away or kick them to the side. They are still live and dangerous,

- If you have to drive, watch out for debris,

- In the event of an emergency, you can contact their 24/7 number 1850-372-999.
The ESB have asked that members of the public do not report power outages to that number as it is just for emergencies
