Even if I had the money, I'd be too concerned with trafficking charges to book flights, better to hook up with some local talent when you get there, or hole up in an Irish hotel for a few days.

Ive never done it. But I think there is a high risk that after a few hours, maybe a day, you'd realize you dont have much in common. So you'd have to bone more to avoid the awkward silences. Would be a terrible burden. :-)
