Thumbs up Bus Ιireann drivers are going back to work — Strike is over

Just in time for people travelling over the Easter weekend but I'd say it will take a while to get all routes up and running fully again.

And i wonder will Dublin Bus drivers now still go ahead, typical they just voted to strike in solidarity with Bus Eireann. Dublin Bus have been striking every year for the last few years

DublinBus drivers vote 78% in favour of supportive strike in BusEireann dispute. Incredible solidarity. Trade unionism is alive and well!

It will all depend on whether the Bus Ιireann staff accept the recommendations or not I suppose. They have yet to ballot on the recommendations. While costs need to be cut this situation is purely of the NTA's making. They fooked up big time and unfortunately someone has to pay for their mistake but I don't think it's fair to ask the drivers to pay for it!

SIPTU strongly supported the water tax imposition on top of working class people! The Trade Union movement have 2 seats on the board of Irish Water, amazing that isn't it?

Nobody should ever use the word 'Socialist' in the Republic in connection with the so called Trade Union Movement here and even more so with The Lowest of the Low, Labour Party Scum aka Blueshirt lickasses!

Any word yet on the plight of private bus drivers who in cases are on €10 per hour, while BE lads snort at the trough! Glad though BE management seem to have taken it up the hole a bit!
The CIE group is largely neptocratic and a lot of disputes within it have been turf wars at the end of the day!
Get rid of Free Travel passes for BE employees and families unless like for everyone else they are over a certain age or have a serious medical condition! AFAIK those passes entitle them let alone to free travel here but also in Europe, absolute BullShit, paid for by everyone else!
    Ride them on the beaches!

I don't recall Bus Ιireann drivers ever backing up the Dublin Bus drivers when they were on strike! As the recommendations have yet to be voted on by the Bus Ιireann staff there could still be a strike. The job isn't exactly done yet and having the Dublin Bus drivers, the bigger of the 2 companies ready to go out in support can only help if further negotiations are required.
