I strongly believe we should have a Union for the Guys on here
Well Zilch me auld mate, I cant be arsed going through it all again but basically, mearse said girls were charging 30 - 50 which I thought was crazy
As this thread progressed I began to realise the following.....
The lady in question who was the only evidence of a price increase was the one and only SophieX.
I hope that helps a bit
What if "It's Raining Men" and 'Let the bodies hit the floor' are both about the same event but from different perspectives 🤔
In normal market situations reduced demand should certainly not increase prices. On the other hand people saying that guys "have a choice" (to visit an alterative lady) do not necessarily get the whole picture either. Not everyone has the capacity to travel to anywhere to meet a different lady. A lot depends on their circumstances and routine. It's not like you have a whole lot of shops side by side with perfect competition. There is also the reality that for many men it is not an entirely rational choice to punt, and that they will continue to do so if they cannot really afford it. Like I said a price increase when men become the ones taking the legal risk is illogical but there are many variables in the situation!
Getting away from price altogether, there is another possibility in the new environment when it kicks in and that is that it will have no effect whatsoever on demand. Certainly in my own circumstances I never knowingly went out taking a risk of being caught when punting. Yes, I did, back in the day, go into massage parlours on the side of the street but always felt, curiously, that their very visibility created a certain assurance and they Gardaν had plenty of opportunity to raid them already. Obviously in nearly all those cases they were done eventually but if I even felt a real chance of being caught in one of them I'd not have gone in. In fact to some extent I would say men who dabble in punting are at some level risk-takers anyway. Jumpy risk-averse types probably would see huge danger in the whole situation.
Nowadays I would say that most men going to apartments to meet ladies feel perfectly secure and feel that the chances of the Gardaν barging in are pretty much zero given that they will have gone through a few 'checks' themselves before being allowed in. That feeling won't change and I imagine the Gardaν are better deployed elsewhere than trying to catch a few punters before going through the rigmarole of trying to build evidence for a prosecution. If you accept what I am saying, will the new law when it comes in really affect anything?

It's funny how if someone saw a suit for €300 in one shop and the precise same suit on sale in another for €250 it would be considered perfectly sensible to buy the one at the lower price. But when the same logic is applied to escorts a person becomes a "skinflint" and a "tight arse"? Unfortunately, not everyone lives in a world of unlimited resources, or a situation where there are no competing drains on their wallet, and many have to make such choices. But then again, I'm sure you know that from renting apartments, hotel rooms etc. Presumably you do not automatically go for the highest price?
